Rapid Response - Careers in Aged Care and Disability Support

This grant, which is an initiative created in response to a key recommendation of the Premier’s Economic and Social Recovery Advisory Council (PESRAC) Report, is now CLOSED.

1Who is the program for?

The program targets individuals who are unemployed, have been made redundant, are underemployed or are employed in other industries but are wanting to change career and transition into careers as aged care or disability support workers.

The program will provide fee free training to learners to train in the Certificate III in Individual Support which is recognised as a critical qualification in this sector.

2Who will benefit from the program?

Community services and health is the state’s largest employing sector (16 per cent of total employment in 2020) and is projected to grow by 11 per cent by 2024.

Employers who participate in the program are able to use this as a recruitment strategy to employ new workers that are the “right fit” for working in the aged care or disability sector.

3Who can apply?

Only Endorsed Registered Training Organisations (ERTOs) are eligible to apply for this grant program.

The only qualification subsidised under this program is Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015).  ERTOs must have this qualification on their scope of registration at the time they submit an application.
