Modernising Apprenticeships Report
The Tasmanian Government is committed to supporting high quality apprenticeships and traineeships as a way of building qualified workforces and giving learners an opportunity to earn while they learn. This report examined current practices and challenges in the apprenticeship and traineeship system in Tasmania to ensure they remain relevant in a changing labour market. The consultation process gathered input from learners, training organisations, employers and industry representatives.

Legislation
Governance of the Tasmanian VET system is established under the Training and Workforce Development Act 2013. The Act:
- provides powers for the administration of the Tasmanian training and workforce development system and establishes and grants powers to the Tasmanian Traineeships and Apprenticeships Committee (TTAC)
- provides the legislative authority for the administration of apprenticeships, traineeships and vocational placements
- contains provisions regarding inquiries, inspections and disputes
