Tasmanian Training Awards

Record number of nominations received for the 2022 Awards

Nominations for the 2022 Tasmanian Training Awards have now closed.

A record number of nominations were received for the 2022 Tasmanian Training Awards clearly highlighting the great work being done in vocational education and training in Tasmania.

Shortlisting is underway and successful applicants will be invited to attend an interview in July.

Awards Timeline

June – shortlisting of all award categories.

July – interviews for businesses, training providers and individual award candidates.

September – gala presentation dinner, Wrest Point Conference Centre, Hobart.

November – Australian Training Awards presentation, Adelaide.

Bookings for the gala presentation dinner to be held on 9 September 2022 are expected to open next month.

New resources for teaching vision impaired students

The Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training (ADCET) has released a resource which aims to help teachers and trainers work with blind and vision impaired students.

The resources include Online Access for Tertiary Students who are Blind or Vision Impaired Guidelines and a free e-learning module.

ASQA Changes

All registered training organisations and those delivering training under ASQA requirements are encouraged to visit the ASQA website to ensure they are receiving regular updates. There are several significant changes affecting registered training organisations from 1 July, 2022. Information is available on the ASQA site and summarised in their June update - www.asqa.gov.au/news-events/news

Libraries Tasmania’s Lifelong Learning Information Service

Libraries Tasmania’s Lifelong Learning Information Service is a new service for adults who want to study or learn a new skill, but don’t know where to start. Libraries can help people to find information about changing careers, completing a qualification, learning a trade or pursuing a new hobby, as well as providing support through range of literacy and learning programs.

The Lifelong Learning Information Service is a key action in the Adult Learning Strategy. You can access the service by visiting or contacting your local library or by calling 1800 808 303.
